Since Ken Robinson first appeared on TED talks in 2007, I have been a fan. His ideas and discussion about creativity and/or lack of in in teaching have now reached thousands of people all over the world. I would urge anyone interested in education to look at his talks and read his books. His books have come some time after his talks became popular.
Finding your Element, is a good guide for looking at yourself in a responsible and objective way. It offers a practical guide to honouring your passions and natural aptitudes. I would recommend this book for all parents, young adults or those wishing to make changes in their lives. Robinson defines and discussion topics like passion, mindfulness, and consciousness as part of the process of Finding Your Element. Here is one of my favourite quotes: “Being in your Element is about connecting with and dwelling in the positive feelings that express and fulfill your own spiritual energies”.
